Thank you for having asked about helping in Haiti. Presently there is a team that is at the border assessing how to get a tent city hospital set up in that area. We are having a training meeting on Tuesday afternoon to help us know how to best help--and be a blessing in the process. 

   While time is of the essence, it seems that in Haiti so much is happening at once, that very little is happening. Getting into the Port-au-Prince airport is very difficult and getting across our border seems to be problematic, too. As you've probably seen on the news, there is aid arriving in Haiti, but they are not sure how to distribute it--so it is frustrating to all.
 

     Here is an update after my trip yesterday to Haitian Border. Our trip confirmed  it will be important to set up a medical base in Jimani to implement and supplement what the Hospital is doing. One of the directors of disaster relief, told us that the greatest need is for surgeons, surgical supplies, & equipment.

   We are planning to set up hospital tents in Jimani, first where the overflow of wounded refugees is coming. Hospital is way over capacity with patients on the floor in hallways, two to a bed.

   All medical, hospital, surgical supplies in short supply or non-existent.  Jimani is base of operations for DR response, We saw helicopters ferrying people out of Haiti. Steady convoy of vehicles going both directions over the one road going into Port-au-Prince from here, carry supplies and personnel in and seeing many more well to do Haitians leaving in their private vehicles.

Although we do some things in a traditional manner, our style and format is more contemporary with a strong emphasis on individual involvement.
