Women have been a vital part of the ongoing ministry of Calvary Temple Church since its humble beginnings in a renovated storeroom at 408 Seneca Street over 50 years ago. Their ministry has touched areas of our entire church with a multiplicity of emphases and focuses…including prayer, Bible study, missions, hospitality (providing meals to families or helping in the kitchen), benevolence, ministry to both young girls and senior adults, & fund-raising.
Women today fill a variety of roles: friend, wife, grandmother, business woman, student, corporate leader, volunteer helper. Women's Ministries exists to promote a growing relationship with Jesus Christ for women and build fellowship with one another. We strive for ladies to have an opportunities to get away from everything and have a time of fellowship and devotion. Women's Ministries of Calvary Temple Church provides opportunities for service, helps, pastoral support ministry, and hospitality. |

Here we are almost a month into a new year with new and exciting things happening in Women’s Ministries. Janet Davis is our new president/leader and has been an active member at CTC for many years. She has a heart for all women to see them come to the Lord and grow in Him. Connie Baker is our new vice-president and Eileen Ebbert is our new secretary-treasurer.
Regular monthly meetings will continue on the second Tuesday at 6:30pm. Faith, fun, and fellowship are the focus of our meetings. Refreshments are served and babysitting can be provided for children up to 1st grade. One of our goals this year is to have a women’s seminar at Calvary Temple. Planning is in the early stages therefore details are few; we will announce the date(s) and theme later. |

People say they fondly remember caroling as childr en. Most everybody knows what Christmas caroling is, but who does it anymore? The answer is the Women’s Ministries of Calvary Temple Church.
Members of Calvary Temple’s Women’s Ministries (Above: Rose McClellan, Phyllis Witmer, Mary Yocky , Helen Welch, and Connie Baker.) went to the Presbyterian Nursing Home and sang Christmas carols on December 8. Once again, Connie Baker was very gracious and led us in singing. Deb Rhoades was able bring 7 month old Clarissa Trauterman (Below: 7 month old Clarissa Trauterman with nursing home resident) and the residents loved on her like she was their own; of course, Clarissa enjoyed every minute of the attention. Deb also drove the van for us.
In all, 16 individuals attended. Bobbi Smith brought her friend Sarah White. Sarah came last year and enjoyed herself so much she wanted to come again this year to go caroling. Rose McClellan, Amy Rhoades, and Phyllis Witmer were a big help to Connie as she led the singing.
We caroled on all three floors of the home and then returned to the church for refreshments. Janet Davis, Chrissy Haag, and Eileen Ebbert stayed at the church to decorate and set everything up. Each of the women who attended enjoyed the time of ministry and were all sung out when they returned to the church for refreshments and fellowship. |
