Positive Memories for Abused Children Print E-mail
Royal Family Kids’ Camps

girl_close_upThe nation’s leading network of camps for abused, neglected and abandoned children.

   • Annually, 3 million cases are reported in America of child abuse, neglect or abandonment

   • One of these victims dies every four hours due to that abuse

You can make a difference — through your support of Royal Family Kids’ Camps.

Give abused and neglected children a foundation of happy memories that could forever change their lives. We are able to provide a high quality, 5 day overnight camping experience for only $500 per camper. Because all of our staff are volunteers and many of our supplies are donated, we are able to keep costs down. Despite our low costs, we are still dependent on the generosity of local businesses and individuals to make Royal Family Kid's Camps' a reality each year. Thanks for your involvement!

Director Fran Leifheit remembers with amazement the seemingly random attendance at a conference in Buffalo, NY, when she heard the song, "I Will Change Your Name" being played on the loud speaker. Stopped in her tracks, she knew in that moment, her life had changed forever.

After spending months trying to track down the story behind the song, she learned about RFKC and volunteered at the Akron, Ohio camp. For five years, Fran drove from Pittsburgh to Akron to be a part of RFKC.

When the door opened for a Pittsburgh camp, Fran was elated and gladly accepted the role of Camp Director.

Volunteers are needed for counselors and staff members. If you are interested, submit an application, clearance forms, and you will be contacted for an interview.
